What is the Per Capita Tax?
"The Per Capita Tax is a flat rate local tax payable by all adult residents living within a taxing jurisdiction. For most areas “adult” is defined as 18 years of age and older, though in some areas the minimum age may differ. This tax is due yearly and is based solely on residency, it is NOT dependent upon employment or property ownership."

Exemptions are available for:
Residents who are blind
Residents who are Active military personal and are stationed outside of Crawford County
Residents with Annual Income of Less than $3200. (This exemption must be applied for every year by September 1st)
2024 PER CAPITA TAX BILLS THAT WERE UNPAID HAVE BEEN TURNED OVER TO SHARP COLLECTIONS
2025 County & School Per Capita Taxes: WILL BE MAILED ON August 1ST.
Payments can be made in several ways:
Online, by mail, drop box or in-person by chance or appointment.

All cash payments must be for the exact amount
Due to the added cost of processing refunds, overpayments of less than $2.00, will only be refunded upon request, per Rockdale Township Resolution 2022-2
August 1st: Bills are mailed to residents of Rockdale Township
September 30th: Last day to pay at Discount
November 30th: Last day to pay at Face
December 30: Last day to pay at Penalty before the bills are turned over to Sharp Collections

Online payments can be made by credit card or e-check. A fee is charged by the credit card processor.
If paying by credit card: 2.65% of the total payment amount. Minimum of $3.00
If paying by e-check: Flat fee of $1.50.
